Large security campaign in Sousse : Arrest of more than 90 wanted individuals :oops:

As part of the fight against crime and the preservation of public order, a broad security campaign was conducted on Saturday, July 13 in the governorate of Sousse.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, 93 wanted individuals were apprehended, more than 100 reports were drawn up and 30 motorcycles were seized for lack of documents.

The Sousse general prosecutor’s office authorized this morning, Sunday, July 21, 2024, the opening of an inquiry for “assassination with premeditation and prior intention”. And this, following the death of a person born in 1984, after having been violently assailed and hit with stones by three individuals, including two minors, following an altercation between them during a drinking session.

The security authorities in the southern Sousse region could apprehend the perpetrators and keep them in detention pending the investigation, according to what was announced by the deputy prosecutor at the court of first instance of Sousse 1 and his spokesperson. the official word, Wissem Cherif.

 
Customs: Seizure of 34 kg of jewelry worth more than 1.3 million dinars

Customs services at the Ras Jedir border post seized 34 kg of gold and silver jewelry, worth more than 1.3 million dinars.

This jewelry, weighing 6,413 grams of 18 and 9 carat gold, was hidden in a vehicle.

A report was drawn up to this effect, and the public prosecutor ordered the investigation into this matter to continue.
 

Feriana : Head of national guard unit found dead​

Riadh Nouioui, spokesperson for the courts of the governorate of Kasserine told Tunisie Numérique, that the head of a national guard unit was discovered dead.

Tunisia – 538 Tunisians in prison and more than 10,000 on run for bad check cases​

MP Yasser Al-Gurari, Chairman of the General Legislation Committee, disclosed Tuesday that “538 citizens are in jail because of a bad check, and around 10,000 others are on the run.”

He explained, on Al-Jawhara FM, that “there is a citizen who was convicted to 657 years in prison, because of approximately 338 bounced checks”, remarking that “with the new law relating to controls, it is not possible to automatically raise a case if the injured party does not do so.

He added: “The new draft law on checks stipulates that banks are accountable for issuing the chequebook to customers, setting the maximum limit of checks based on their financial solvency”, underlining that “it will also play the role of supervisor through the electronic platform which will permit the beneficiary customer to check the balance of the person who gave them the check. The MP stressed “the obligation of banks to engage in the check platform, and those who do not participate will bear the consequences”, as he said.

He likewise confirmed that “the new law has decided to decriminalize checks without balance whose amount is less than 5 thousand dinars”, noting that “there is a study which has proven that 86% of checks without balance are less than 5 thousand dinars”.

 
Tunisia – Gafsa : Arrest of a fraudster subject to 19 wanted notices

Security units affiliated with the Gafsa national security station were able to arrest a person who had presented 19 wanted notices to various security units and judicial structures, for fraud, with a view to his arrest. He was kept in detention, after consultation with the public prosecutor and investigations are still ongoing.

Agents of the Sidi Hassine Sijoumi Judicial Police Division captured two young men and the mother of one of them after they were implicated in the murder of a taxi driver and tried to bury him on an abandoned farm.

Available data shows that the deceased, a taxi driver aged around 60, went to work at dawn and stopped briefly in front of a kiosk to fulfil a private need before returning to his vehicle. As soon as he began the engine, two young men jumped into the car. One sat next to him while the other sat in the back seat. They placed a pair of sneakers around his neck from behind, while the second person hugged him and forced him to drive to an abandoned farm in a remote and isolated location.

According to the attorney in charge of the investigation, the suspects began to attack the deceased and attempted to suffocate him, but he was determined to confront them and defend himself. As a result, one of them took out a knife and stabbed him in the upper chest. After he was discovered dead, one of the two individuals called his mother, who came to the scene and requested them to dig a hole and bury him inside to hide the traces of the crime. She went to get a bundle and an axe. Her trip coincided with the passage of a security patrol, whose agents became suspicious of the taxi’s whereabouts and when they headed towards it, the suspects escaped.

With the launch of the inquiry, the identity of one of the suspects was revealed since his shirt, belonging to a private security company he worked for, was found. He was apprehended in Fernana in the governorate of Jendouba. The second suspect was arrested while he was preparing to embark clandestinely towards Europe from the coasts of Sousse. He was tricked into helping his mother, who arranged to give him money for the migration operation.

In consultation with the investigating judge of the court of first instance of Tunis 2, in charge of the investigation, he authorized the arrest of the suspects, the mother of one of them, a young man who was to participate in the clandestine transport operation, and the organizer of the migration operation, pending the continuation of the investigation.

 
Tunisia – Investigation opened following the discovery of a body in a burning house

The prosecution at the Sousse Court of First Instance has authorized the opening of an investigation for “premeditated murder and arson of an inhabited place,” after the discovery of a body in one of Sousse’s abandoned buildings, according to a statement by the court’s official spokesperson, Wissam El-Cherif.

Cherif said that a fire broke out in an abandoned building consisting of two floors, ground floor and basement, adding that when civil protection personnel went to the scene to extinguish the fire, an unidentified human body was discovered.

According to the same source, the initial examination of the body revealed that there was no trace of violence or aggression, nor any trace of a stab wound.

They were arrested for collecting sponsorships in exchange for sums of money, on behalf of a candidate in the presidential election, the spokesperson for the Court, Alaeddine Aouadi, told the official news agency. According to the same source, based on the evidence provided by the Jendouba judicial police brigade, the public prosecutor had initiated an investigation for distributing money to influence voters.

Three accused women were questioned and admitted in the report that they had received promises of employment from the parties for whom they were acting. They were placed in detention while the fourth disappeared into thin air.
 
Tunisia – Carthage : Arrest of an individual for attempted murder

The Tunis prosecutor’s office has authorized the detention of a person for “attempted premeditated murder”, after his arrest by the security units affiliated with the Carthage Judicial Police Division, at the national security posts of Carthage-Byrsa, West Karm and La Goulette, and the Carthage Tourist and Public Road Security Divisions.

The arrest of the aforementioned person came after he, along with another person, attacked a young man with extreme violence using a stick, following an argument between the two parties. An attack that required the young man to be hospitalized.The accomplice is actively sought.
 

3 officials and woman committed fraud to steal gold from deceased lady​

Last Friday, the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of Gafsa approved the detention of four individuals, including a woman, by the national security judicial police brigade of Gafsa for alleged falsification of administrative documents. Among the incarcerated were a cashier of a municipality in Gafsa, another agent, and a secondary school teacher.

This group used these falsified papers to obtain other administrative documents in the name of a deceased woman. This manoeuvre aimed to stay under the radar and gain access to a hidden treasure – gold – stored in a public box, reports Mosaïque FM this Tuesday, August 6.

A heinous crime shocked the region of Jedliane, in the governorate of Kasserine, yesterday, during which a young man was killed.

It was Maher Al-Khelaifi, 19, who passed after being stabbed in the back with a large knife as he left the cafe. The assailant is none other than a friend of the victim.

Farah Montasser, head of the branch of the Tunisian League for the Defense of Human Rights in Kebili, confirmed that the general prosecutor’s office at the region’s court of first instance issued yesterday an arrest warrant for rapper Ghassan Aoun Allah and the technician Nassim Naili against the backdrop of “phrases contained in a song he published, which were deemed to be “targeting security districts”.

He added, during his speech today, on private radio, that Decree 54 was invoked to charge “the usage of information and communication networks and systems and the attempt and dissemination of information, false data and rumours aimed at undermining public security and national defence and sowing terror among the population.

Montassar reported that the song was understood and read by security forces as incitements and calls to burn security districts, revealing that the public prosecutor acted on its own.

The attorney confirmed that a hearing is planned for next Wednesday, before the annexe chamber of the Kebili First Instance court to examine the case.

The public prosecutor at the Tunis Court of First Instance has authorized the agents of the Al Gorjani Criminal Affairs Sub-Directorate to arrest a husband suspected of being involved in the massacre of his wife and his attempted suicide by stabbing himself with the same knife, at dawn today, Thursday, August 8, 2024, inside the marital home in the Al-Kram region, in the northern suburbs of the capital, according to what a well-informed source confirmed.

Preliminary data indicate that the husband, who works in one of the administrative departments and lives in the West Al-Kram area, recently had frequent conflicts with his wife, and the conflict between them started late last night and continued until early Thursday morning, when he stabbed his wife several times with a knife, causing several injuries, some of which were fatal to her neck, which killed her instantly.

As soon as the security units were alerted, they quickly arrived and apprehended the husband. He stabbed himself with a knife in the neck, but he was quickly controlled and arrested.

It was decided to keep the suspect pending an investigation to uncover the circumstances of what he had done.
 
Water leak at Boujaâfar beach: Sousse municipality official in detention

Today, Wednesday, August 7, 2024, the public prosecutor of the Sousse Court of First Instance ordered the detention of the deputy director of the Sousse municipality.

Two other people were summoned to appear in court, and the contractor who was awarded the contract to clean Sousse beach was placed under search warrant.

These measures follow a water leak incident that occurred at Boujaâfar beach last weekend, according to the court spokesperson, Wissem Cherif, on Mosaïque FM.

The charges against the suspects include forming an agreement to harm property and people, abuse of office by a public official responsible for preserving the property of the administration, exploiting his position to harm these properties, violating the regulations applicable to operations under his responsibility, intentional damage to infrastructure and works of public interest for water resources, and intentional introduction of polluting substances into the environment, whether biological, chemical or material, directly or indirectly.

Rapper Ghassen Aoun Allah Sentenced to Three Months in Prison, Suspended

The Kébili Court of First Instance delivered its verdict on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, in the case involving rapper Ghassen Aoun Allah and technician Nassim Naquili.
While the latter was acquitted, the rapper was sentenced to three months in prison, suspended.

Fake Psychotherapist Arrested in Hammam Sousse : Investigation Uncovers Fraudulent Practice​

The unit in charge of judicial investigations at the Sousse National Guard has opened a case against a person who falsely claimed to be a psychotherapist specializing in autism, hyperactivity, and sexology. Hager Aich, spokesperson for the Sousse Court, reported on August 21 on Mosaïque FM that the public prosecutor at the Sousse Court has issued a committal warrant against this individual.

The suspect had opened a practice in Hammam Sousse. During the inquiry, the police seized equipment, registers, money, and medical certificates. A representative of the National Order of Physicians confirmed that the suspect is indeed a fraudulent practitioner and lacks the required qualifications to practice these specialties.

 

Sousse : Attempted rape of 14-year-old girl, 10 people arrested o_O

An individual was arrested in Sousse for attempted rape and assault of a 14-year-old girl. The detained individual is also implicated in drug trafficking and attempted with the help of his mother to force the victim to consume narcotics.

A security patrol carried out a police raid on the suspect’s house where its units arrested his mother who confessed the facts and that she is part of a drug trafficking network composed of several people including her brother.

The security units managed to arrest other people from the same network during the same day, including five who were the subject of a search warrant.

 

Tunisia – Le Kram : Great performance by the police: He robs currency exchange office and caught in process​

A masked and armed person, employing a large knife, a cleaver, broke down the interior door of a money exchange agency located on Habib Bourguiba Street in Kram and robbed a sum of money amounting to 8,000 dinars, then escaped to an unknown destination.

Following this robbery, the security units affiliated with the national security post of Kram East moved at the required speed.

Based on the specifications provided and after conducting several inquiries in the field, it was possible to limit the suspicions to an individual with a criminal record and arrest him shortly after he hid in the lobby of one of the city’s buildings. He had all the stolen money.

When he was taken to the headquarters of the security unit and interrogated, he admitted to everything attributed to him after confronting him with all the evidence and recordings from the surveillance cameras installed at the crime scene. He also admitted that he intentionally disposed of the crime tool, the clothes and the mask used in the robbery, by throwing them in an abandoned house. He was later detained for search.
